Thavorn Beach hotel in Kamala is a beautiful destination for being ‘in the rain forest’ if you want to ponder the beauty of tropical plants. Birds also are beautiful, and staff members in all parts of the hotel are especially kind, friendly, and accommodating!
They are doing construction on one part of the pool; so if it is too loud, they can find another room for you. If the restaurant or pool music bass was too loud, immediately they apologized and turned it down.
There are resident rabbits, kids can have a pony ride, and a man brings a baby elephant by to pet and take photos (50 baht for close-ups).
My beach swim was lovely over on the right (North) side where there’s more sand at high tide. Water warm, gentle waves, felt wonderful.
People were also exploring the shallow coral at low tide (but it’s against Thai law to collect any).
A fabulous buffet breakfast is included in the hotel rate; and we ate dinner in the restaurant 2x (& ordered room service once) because it was so good: really first class food! They make fresh tropical fruit ‘shakes’/smoothies e.g. mango. Don’t miss the dragon fruit, berries, papaya, and fruit salad at breakfast.
I think this is a great choice in Phuket, as Patong Beach is known for its loud nightclubs, and we could even hear one across the bay. If you want loud music, just save money and listen to car woofers.
