Night markets in Phuket are lots of fun, and the island has no shortage of great walking street markets to choose from. These markets all offer up a lively atmosphere, are a fun place to wander and shop, and of course, give the opportunity to sample a wonderful variety of popular street foods, scrumptious Thai desserts and local delicacies.

With night markets being held every night of the week in Phuket, there is no excuse to not get out and enjoy all that these markets have to offer. Below, we highlight some of our favorite Phuket walking street markets in no particular order.

Lard Yai - Phuket Sunday Walking Street Market

Adding to the charm of Phuket Old Town is Lard Yai, the island’s premier Sunday Walking Street. This is the most popular Phuket walking street market that takes place on Thalang Road, in the heart of the old town, and draws locals, expats and tourists in search of food and fun.

The market sells a variety of goods including souvenirs, local art, homemade arts & crafts, jewelry, clothing and toys, plus, it is a favorite spot for dining on Phuketian delicacies and street food. The lively ambiance of the market also features live music, karaoke and other art and theatre performances.

The Phuket Sunday Walking Street Night Market should not be missed! It takes place every Sunday, rain or shine, from 5:00pm - 10:00pm in Phuket Old Town.

Chillva Night Market Phuket

Chillva Night Market Phuket is a favorite amongst Thai teenagers, but it is a good family friendly destination with plenty to explore. Many young locals have stalls here where they are selling original arts and crafts, plus there’s a lot of clothing and jewelry, sports shoes, cute accessories and electronic gadgets to choose from.

Food-wise, there are tons of sweet and savory snacks, fried insects (don’t be shy, do give them a try!), crispy fried chicken, tropical fruits, tasty banana pancakes, plus a few small bars and restaurants with both indoor and outdoor seating.

Chillva Night Market Phuket is open Thursday - Saturday from 5:00pm - 11:00pm.

Naka Market - Phuket Weekend Market

Phuket’s original market, and often referred to as the Phuket Weekend Market by tourists, Naka Market is a hodgepodge of absolutely everything you could think of under one roof. This popular Phuket night market is often packed with tourists, but the locals love it, too.

This market has everything including second-hand clothes, new clothes, shoes, handbags, makeup and spa products, electronics, CDs and DVDs, toys, stuffed animals, pets for sale, plants … the list of what is available here goes on and on.

Naka Market is an excellent place to sample Thai food as well. From spicy curries, grilled seafood, cheap noodles, hamburgers, Shawarma, desserts, craft cocktails, and more, it is guaranteed you will not leave here with an empty stomach!

Naka Market, Phuket’s famous weekend market, is actually open every single day from 4:00pm - 10:00pm.

Kata Night Market

Hidden in an alley next to hotels and restaurants, the Kata Night Market is a fantastic Phuket walking street market. There are plenty of souvenir shops, plus, lots of clothing in western sizes with affordable pricing.

The food stalls here are set up like a food court, and there is lots of variety. You can dine on everything from noodle soup, to skewered meats from the BBQ, delicious Phad Thai, and of course, an array of Thai desserts and sweets. This market is a good alternative to dining in your hotel at least once during your stay in Phuket.

Kata Night Market is open daily from 2:00pm - 11:00pm.

Karon Temple Market

Enjoy street shopping in Phuket at the local Karon Temple Market. This market is popular with tourists and locals alike, and features a good amount of affordable clothing, souvenir items, local massage oils and spa products, delicious fruit, great Thai desserts and street food favorites, and just about everything in-between!

Fun Friday Boat Avenue Market

Located in the center of Chergntalay’s popular Boat Avenue shopping plaza, the Fun Friday Boat Avenue Market is a busy Phuket walking street market. This market is highly recommended for foodies as there are hundreds of stalls selling street food and Thai delicacies. Many of the restaurants in the area also set up shop and offer signature menu items at affordable prices.

In addition, there are souvenir stalls as well as arts and crafts.

Fun Friday Boat Avenue Market takes place every Friday near Bang Tao Beach from 5:00pm - 10:00pm.

Phuket Indy Market

Phuket Indy Market is a vibrant market in Phuket. Lined with stalls selling the creations of young, creative local artists, a few curbside bars, a wide selection of street and Thai-fusion food, plus a live band, the market makes for a fun, family friendly night out.

Often overlooked for the island’s bigger markets, Phuket Indy Market is located next to Limelight Avenue shopping complex on Dibuk Road in Phuket Town. It has more of a creative flair than the other walking street markets in Phuket, and is definitely worth checking out.
