On the 4th of January 2018 – Royal Thai Navy with Department of Marine and Coastal, Prince of Songkla University, Thavorn Beach Village Resort and Spa Hotel and many other organizations, together holding an exhibition of Coral Reefs and Marine Lifes Conservation at The Royal Thai Navy Third Area in Cape Panwa, Phuket.
Coral reefs are home to 25% of all marine life on earth, just a few degrees increase of ocean temperatures can destroy huge areas of coral reefs through bleaching. There can also be negative physical impacts to the reefs from overfishing, such as damage from local fishermen by fishing gear or certain fishing methods, and when fishing boat anchors are used.
This exhibition is being held to raise public awareness from both locals and tourists to preserve coral reefs and marine lifes under waters and restoring abundance and balance of the sea, this project derived from the initiative of Her Majesty Sirivannavari Nariratana.
