Remembering Thailand’s beloved King Bhumibol
Many tourists may have a question that “Why Thai people love the king so much?” The answer is that, his majesty is the most beloved person of the kingdom. His majesty has done so many things for people of Thailand for over 60 years.
Since the beginning of King Bhumibol’s reign, his majesty travelled to all of Thailand, from the north to the south in every dangerous place, talked to the poor and vulnerable people just to understand the way of their problem and find the way to solve it. In this regard, his majesty has initiated more than 4ooo “Development Projects” which include the irrigation system and forestry preservation. His majesty has been working so hard for over 70 years of his reign in developing economic and the Thais subsistence. As his worded on the day of his accession to the throne “We will reign with righteousness, for the benefit and happiness of the Siamese people.”
During the process of Royal Cremation Ceremony (25th – 29th October 2017), is the sensitive time of Thailand and the tourist should respect the feelings and sensitivities of Thai people. Nevertheless, some tourist attractions in Phuket will be open as usual but please be aware that in some areas transportation could be affected, this may cause the tourist experience delays or some routes may be closed to traffic then please be patience and understanding.
In this time of great sadness, the Thais will wear black clothes but this is not required the tourists to wear the same but if possible, should wearing the respectful clothes when in public during this time.
