We came for a relaxing week after touring around Myanmar and a perfect place it was to do this. Set in acres of it’s own ecological grounds and gardens filled with sculptures, orchids and wildlife with the most amazing lagoon swimming pool that we could access privately from our poolside room with a small sandy beach alongside with a bar and eating area. If you feel the need to go to Patong beach the hotel provides a free shuttle bus throughout the day but the surroundings are so beautiful we only ventured out once as it was a little like going to Piccadilly Circus. There are daily visits from a baby elephant that comes to the beach to be fed bananas, giant tortoises, a pony and a friendly family of tame rabbits along with colorful parakeets and chickens. There are hillside cottages but these have to accessed by a cable tram and if you want views then go for one of those. The only downside was the restaurants which had limited menus and breakfast was a nightmare as the jams and pastries placed on un-covered trays were covered in ants and wasps. Very off-putting and this problem needs to be addressed as it makes its rating drop to 4 star.
